This is one of the BEST prequels I've read. Not only is it a story all on its own, but the stupid cliffhanger ending left me screaming inside my own head. Surely, SURELY this can be explained!!! Surely, SURELY that did not just happen! What's sad is that I read Obsidian first, then realized that there was a prequel. So naturally I assumed that some of the unanswered questions I had regarding Bethany and Dawson would be answered. What this novella did was make me fall in love with them, and then leave me hanging. Urg! That being said (yelled, whatever...) I absolutely ADORED Bethany and Dawson. Dawson is Daemon's twin brother, but with a gentler demeanor. Bethany is the new girl in town. It's quite obvious almost immediately that they are fated to be together. The dual heartbeats are prevalent here. Their romance is sweet and spicy, and they are so comfortable with each other from the very start. You just KNOW that good things are to come from these two. And you just have to root for them, though the odds are obviously stacked against them. None of the Lux are on the side of their romance. Doom and gloom is around every corner.Another HUGE hats off to La La, who recommended this series. Its such an easy series to fall in love with. Seriously going straight to my favorites alongside Obsidian.
