2.5 starsThis book followed the predictable contemporary romance plot nearly to the T. I enjoyed the first two in the series quite a bit, so I expected more of the same from this one. But it just flat out missed. The characters are likeable, but forgettable. I wanted to love Jenna. She seemed like a funky, hard ass, speak her mind type, and that's how she started out. Soon, she turned into a typical heroine, fighting her attraction to the perfect man for some inane, unexplainable reason. She's scared of love, blah blah. She's in a difficult place in her life and can't seem to move on, blah. I just can't connect with a heroine like that. Ty, also, was mediocre. The only time that sparks really seemed to fly was in the bedroom, and even those scenes weren't enough for me to really take much notice. Other than to laugh, because while most of the romance part of the story was super icky sweet, the bedroom scenes were aggressive, tacky, and repetitive. Jenna turned into a very vocal demander, which didn't vibe with her demeanor in other areas. Nearly every sex scene had her saying at least once, "Keep doing that. I'm going to come, Ty." Not exaggerating, I think she said that in four different scenes. Then, when we all get to feeling comfortable with Ty's amazing sexual prowess (what guy over age 18 can keep going after a bj?) they decide to go for some anal play, in which the suddenly vocal Jenna is a freaking maniac, screaming for more a** f**king and so on and so forth. It was simply a bit too much for me. The sex scenes seemed trashy, and believe me, I love me some hotness. The rest of the story was just sort of boring and predictable. I suppose I didn't dislike it as much as it sounds. I just know that I won't remember it next week. I still remember the first two in the series, so I'll most likely read the next one to come out. I think this may have been a fluke.
