Point of Retreat (Slammed, #2)

Point of Retreat (Slammed, #2) - Colleen Hoover I butterflying loved this book!!!!! It's YA without the high school drama. Although Lake and Will are forced into the very adult situations of raising half grown kids, they are mature enough to handle it. Their personalities meshed well, and boy, did these two roll with the punches! This book was told from Will's point of view. It didn't even alternate between the two. I do wish that I could have been inside Lake's head again, just to get some of her reaction from these crazy happenings. Especially her reaction to Will's slam poetry. Aaah, heart melting! There is a rare book that truly makes my little romantic heart go pitter pat. And Will just flat out makes it skip a beat, over and over. His complete and utter devotion to Lake is so peaceful. There is no question, EVER, of his love for her. To me, that's what made this book stand out from the other YA that I've read. The question isn't in the teenage angst.."Does he love me? Why didn't he call? Does he love so and so more?" The question for Will and Lake is "How in the WORLD can these two ever be together?" How can they possibly overcome cosmic circumstance and make this work? Oh, how I wanted it to work!!!!! The odds are stacked against them not only due to their ages, but due to their circumstances. I never wondered if they loved each other. It was peace and passion, all at the same time. What a beautiful LOVE story, Ms. Hoover! I am eagerly awaiting your next novel.
