I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Take everything that I love about Kristen Ashley books and amp it up a notch, then slap it into Rock Chick Revenge. First off, I'm a sucker for friends to lovers stories. I love when a girl pines away for her childhood crush for years only to reunite with him and realize that he's always had a place in his heart saved JUST FOR HER. Sigh! So romantic! Ava, like any other living, breathing woman, has had a thing for Luke from the moment she met him at eight years old. Back then, she was Fatty Fatty Four eyes, and naturally assumed that the badass awesomeness that is Luke wouldn't look twice at her. Still, he was her friend; albeit older than her. He was her shoulder to cry on a few times, and that only fed her adoration. Knowing that she couldn't hope to attract him physically, she decides one day that he won't see her until she is up to the standard she has set for Luke's women.Of course, self esteem in a woman is rarely what it should be. So eight years and seventy-five pounds after making that promise, Ava is standing in Nightengale investigations looking for help with a problem. "I figured the Nightengale Investigations job application form had the question "Are you hot? Yes. No. If you answered no, please exit the building."Quite honestly, the problem isn't important when LUKE is in the picture. I wish I could write-squeal. He deserves a big girlie swoon. He's sitting with Eddie and Tate on my KA hot man-o-meter. Not only because he's always seen more to Ava than what's on the outside, but because this man is HOT HOT HOT! Did I complain about the heat level in the Rock Chick series? *walks back in time to smack myself* Here's a 'taste' of Luke."You wanna taste me?" he murmured.Yes, I wanted to taste him. I would pay every penny of Aunt Ella's inheritance to taste him."No," I lied.He did a full grin this time, a full satisfied grin. It was hot, so hot my knees totally buckled and he took all my weight into his body."Liar," he whispered..."Yeah, geez! Hot, hot, hot. But not only was he hot, he was so frickin' sweet! I love how he talks about the 'old Ava' and asks about where she went. He understands more than even Ava how all of the men that came before him 'took those pieces away from her.' Of course, he is annoyingly bossy. Handcuffs are involved...more than once. And then Luke's Mom shows up and completes my love for him, because he loves his Mom, yes he does! We also get to meet a new hot boy, though he isn't a member of the actually Hot Bunch, Or Hot Boy Brigade, as Ava calls them. Ren steps into the picture as a blip of a love interest of Ava's, but did I see sparks fly between him and little sis Nightengale? I think I did! Hmmm, Ren is already Dreamy!I looked at him, just had the chance to notice we had nearly identical cut lips. (for some reason his looked sexier which I found pretty fucking unfair)...As ever, the humor is off the charts. I found myself literally bursting into bouts of laughter. I should really learn to look away from the KA book when I take a drink of my diet coke. You know, KA also stands for KICK ASS. And that's what she does. Kristen Ashley, you are the bomb. I am savoring your books, when I want to devour. I love the feisty heroines and the shy ones. The priceless cast of secondary characters really are a story all on their own. I love how not all of the good guys are GOOD guys. But they all show their good side. Event the shady people in society aren't all bad. And somehow in Rock Chick world, they all come together to complete an amazing cast. I'm honestly going to cry when I finish this series!Oh, oh! One more thing! Someone get MARRIED! It's wonderful and beautiful, and even the hot boy brigade gets a little emotional. The melty gazes abound. And my little heart went pitter pat.So I'm counting the rest of the hot boys left. Let's see...Mace, Hector, and now Ren...come on, Ms. Ashley. You can make about ten more for the hot bunch, can't you?
