4.5 starsMy favorite of the Bevelstoke series, though it really wasn't about any of the Bevelstokes. Sebastian is a wonderful man, a happy, fun, playful rake who also happens to be kind and intensely private. He meets Annabelle, and forms an instant and unknown attraction, not realizing that his lecherous old uncle is sniffing around her. Their story is very romantic, the words poetic without being too flowery. This seemed like an effortless story, as if these two were just supposed to be. That sounds cheesy even to me as I write it, but I'm coming off the lovey dovey high that I got while reading their story. This book is more like the Julia Quinn that I love! It was romantic and sometimes humorous with a beautiful love story.
