The Duke Is Mine - Eloisa James This one was a little boring. There was so much unnecessary dialogue, and the story just didn't move forward quick enough. The H/h didn't get enough 'tension time,' in my opinion. I wasn't sure even at the end what it was that drew them to one another. They didn't seem to retain their original personalities, but bounced around between stuffy and spontaneous (the Duke) or inappropriate and ladylike (Olivia.) The fairy tale aspect was almost nonexistent. Darn it! After reading Ms. James version of Cinderella in the first book of this series, I really wanted another sweet, whimsical romance. It just hasn't happened yet.I get what the other reviews are saying about the disrespectful way that Olivia speaks to her sister about her mentally handicapped fiancee'. There is a major turning point in the story in which she redeems herself, so I could easily overlook it. In addition to the turning point, she WAS speaking to her one and only confidante, her sister, about being betrothed to someone who would always be basically a child for the rest of his life. I'd say that she had the right to be frustrated, and if she can't vent childish anger in the privacy of her room, where can she? She was very polite and caring to Rupert, but was very unhappy about the idea of marriage to him.
